I have posted a video showing how to recover deleted, dropped and truncated data
without corresponding transaction log in SQL Server using features found in
ApexSQL Log. There is no voice in the video but it's easy to follow as I go through all three types of recovery. The database I used in the video is Northwind sample database that comes with (almost) all installations of SQL Server (if you don't have it you can download it
here)
Ivan, you are correct that MSH will revolutionize windows scripting. I can't wait either!
ReplyDeleteNice video. Sorry I haven't been very involved with you lately! Been crushed by work requirements, with a family vacation thrown in just to get me more behind.
ReplyDeleteHow are you recovering data without transaction log(s)? Are you scanning the datafile and picking up unlinked pages and recreating that way?
Hope all is well with you. Hope that lip heals quickly too. :-) Hey, what are you working on these days? What are your top priorities for axLog? Also, as Chief Software Architect, I presume you work with all the Apex product development?
Best,
Kevin
Gabriel, the link was in the title. You can get the video here: http://www.apexsql.com/video/ApexSQLLog_RecoveryWithoutTransactionLog.exe.
